Brent strongly believes that personalized service, coupled with a focus on specific investment disciplines, are key components in developing long-term client relationships. His investment and wealth management practice seeks to optimize a highly disciplined, non-emotional, asset allocation* strategy tailored to each client's personal situation. This process-based approach allows for objectively addressing unique goals, risk tolerance levels, investment objectives, and ultimately each client's financial future. Brent's investment process, which he calls Large-Cap Deep Value, focuses on best of breed, blue chip companies whose stock prices have been substantially dislocated, with special emphasis on income via a covered call overlay strategy. This discipline is quantitative, with a qualitative tilt that allows him to add expression and subjectivity. He developed this opportunistic strategy more than 26 years ago, and it has been a substantial differentiator for his practice.
A graduate of the University of Oregon, Brent has more than 26 years of experience managing client investment portfolios. He began his career as a financial advisor at Piper Jaffray, where he built a successful business by working with affluent families managing their wealth. In 1998 his business transitioned to Wells Fargo Advisors, and in 2013 his practice moved to D.A. Davidson. In 2017 Brent joined Steinberg Investment Group as Managing Director.
Brent was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and currently resides in Lake Oswego, with his wife and their two children. Outside of the office, Brent volunteers for several non-profits, and enjoys playing tennis, golfing, fishing, and especially spending time with his family.
